THE STORY OF GOD—What it is we’re up to…
The story of God runs from the creation of everything to the consummation of everything in God’s Kingdom and includes everything God is doing in the already-and-not-yet. The lives of God-followers today are vignettes in that continuing story, joining the millennia of God-followers who live out God’s story. The God-followers here in Torrance, at TFB, and in the TFB college group are part of the ongoing story that includes believers across the globe. God has commanded us to be his storytellers through our lives, through words, through media, through art, and through any means possible, spreading the Story of God to all who will listen.
Work on the Story is moving to Tuesday and will start in earnest June 7.

BIBLE DISCUSSION—Messy Spirituality, Psalm 48
TUESDAYS
7:15-9:00 pm— TFB College Room
Discussion is potluck style—everybody brings something to share,
so read ahead, pray a bunch, listen, and create.
We finished the book. And the book was good. Next week, we’ll wrap up Messy Spirituality by gathering the prayers and pieces of our hesed definition and creating a unifying theme for the Story of God movie. Work on the movie begins June 7.
Psalm 51 God’s hesed is tender toward us in our rebellious messiness.
v.1 Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins.
Psalm 52 God’s hesed give us real strength.
v.8 But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I trust in God's unfailing love forever and ever.

Perfectionism: "Trying to prove my worth by being perfect"
Perfectionism defeats our initiative. Ecclesiastes 11:4
Perfectionism damages our relationships. Proverbs 17:9
Perfectionism destroys our happiness. Ecclesiastes 7:16
RELAXING IN GOD'S GRACE
R - Realize Nobody Is Perfect. Psalm 119:96; Ecclesiastes 7:20
“I’m not okay, and you are not okay. But because of God’s Grace that is okay!”
E -ENJOY GOD’S UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. 1 John 3:1; Romans 8:31

BIBLE DISCUSSION @ 7:15-9:00 pm— TFB College Room
Bible study meets hangout. Thirty minutes of random yap
followed by directed digging. Right now we’re going through
Mike Yaconelli’s Messy Spirituality and the OT ‘hesed’ passages.
We’re also working on the Story of God media project.
