DIG DEEPER—What does the bible say about marriage, divorce, and remarriage?
At Tuesday Bible Study last week we talked about marriage and divorce. If you would like to do some more reading on the topic, check out the article on Sundoulos.
DIVORCE
What is the Biblical teaching on divorce? Is divorce always a sin? If divorced people get remarried, do they commit adultery? Is this adultery a perpetual sin (i.e., is it continual, for as long as they remain married to their new spouse)? Are divorced people restricted from leadership in the church?

HOLY WORLDLINESS—How’s our religion? Where are our poor?
Principle One: Religion is the outward practice of inward reality: to serve on behalf of those who are socially powerless and to avoid conforming to the world’s values. James 1:26-27
Principle Two: God takes our treatment of the believers and the oppressed in our community very seriously! Isaiah 3:14-15
Think about it: Who are the socially powerless and oppressed in our communities?
What should we do? See THE WEEKLY CHALLENGE below.
WHAT’S COMING
July 18
Isaiah 58:6-9 What does righteousness look like when it’s not in church?
July 25

THE WEEKLY CHALLENGE
This week’s challenge is to search out one socially powerless or oppressed person and take at least one step to bring justice, mercy, and faithfulness into their life.

SMART MANAGEMENT
1. You look ahead. (v. 3)
2. You plan ahead. (v. 4)
3. You act in a timely manner. (v. 5, 6)
Principle #1: You are to invest your money in ways that impact people for eternity. (v. 9) Matthew 6:20-21
Principle #2: Your dimes are a test from God to see if you can handle His dollars.
(v. 10)
Principle #3: God blesses your life based, in part, on how you handle money. (v. 11)
Principle #4: You are to serve God not money. (v. 13): When it comes to money management, the heart of the problem is really a problem of the heart.
I must choose what I will love most in life. Money is a great servant, but a lousy god.
Money is to be used not loved. Deuteronomy 14:23
