OUR DECLARATION OF DEPENDENCE
Charlie Rice
When in the course of human events, it is necessary to dissolve allegiance to self and give allegiance to the Lord Jesus Christ, it is appropriate to declare the reason that compels us to do so:
“For God so loved the world, that He gave
His one and only Son, that whoever believes
in Him, will not perish but have eternal life”
(John 3:16)
We therefore, as the King’s ambassadors to the world, gathered together in general assembly, do solemnly declare that we absolve all allegiance to our way of living and whatever may be self-serving and surrender our lives to our Lord and King, Jesus Christ. With a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we support this declaration by pledging to each other our love, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.
