HOLY WORLDLINESS

Starts: April 25

We’ll probably have more questions than answers, so here are some questions to get us started:
What's the point of being a light in a lighted room when there is so much darkness outside?
What does it look like to live a holy life on behalf of Jesus for the sake of the world?
How can we enjoy God’s creation and remain pure?
How can we tell truth from falsehood?

SUNDAY GATHERING—The Relationship Principles of Jesus, Part 1
PLACE THE HIGHEST VALUE ON YOUR RELATIONSHIPS
Mark 12:28-31
Pastor Charlie

Mark 12:28-31

“God does not demand of me that I accomplish great things. He does demand of me that I strive for excellence in my relationships.” (Ted Engstrom)

Valuing your relationship with God means . . .
Loving Him with all your heart! Your heart is where you FEEL.
Loving Him with all your mind! Your mind is where you THINK. Philippians 4:8
Loving him with all your soul! Your soul is where you DECIDE.
Loving Him with all your strength! Your strength is where you ACT.

Valuing your relationship with others
What is worth my time? Luke 10:40-42
Who is worth my trust? Luke 10:30-35

“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully around with hobbies and little luxuries. Avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket of your selfishness. But in that casket – safe, dark, motionless, airless – it will change. It will not be broken. It will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.” (C.S. Lewis)

Who is worth more? Matthew 10:29-31
Who do I need to schedule time for?
