WHAT WOULD YOU DO…

…to encourage better accountability?
…to know each other better?
…to be welcoming?

It's our job because it's who we are. Take a look at 2 Corinthians 5:17-6:4.

Foundational Ideas
1) Who we are and what we do flows from God, not from ourselves (5:17-19). Those who trust in Christ are new creatures with the task of spreading the news of reconciliation to fellow believers and others.
2) Who we are in Christ determines what we do (5:20-6:4). Through Christ, we have become and are becoming the righteousness of God in Christ. Righteousness is not merely what we do; it is who we are. Being righteousness, we work together with God and we don't let God's grace just sit there. We give no reason for offense and we prove ourselves to be his servants.

Look back at the questions above. How can we leverage our activity to help our fellowbelievers and others to become reconciled with God and become his righteousness?

Put your thoughts in the comments space.

About Jesus, part 5
WHAT JESUS DID – HE DIED IN YOUR PLACE
2 Corinthians 5:21
Pastor Charlie
April 4, 2004

FALSE CLAIM #1 – JESUS WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO DIE.
Matthew 20:28

FALSE CLAIM #2 – JESUS DID NOT REALLY DIE ON THE CROSS.

FALSE CLAIM #3 – JESUS WAS NEVER ACTUALLY CRUCIFIED.

THE TRUTH – JESUS DIED ON THE CROSS IN YOUR PLACE.
2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:24; Isaiah 53:4-6
The beneficiaries of Christ’s death are those who believe.
John 1:12; John 3:16; Romans 10:9; Ephesians 2:8, 9
The benefactor is God Himself.
John 3:16; Romans 5:8; Hebrews 10:11
Our substitute is Jesus Himself.
Romans 3:23; Hebrews 4:15; Isaiah 53:4-6; John 10:18
The benefit is becoming righteous in God’s sight.
Philippians 3:9
